ASTON MARTIN ON THE SILVER SCREEN
The name’s Bond, James Bond:
Author Ian Flemming placed his hero in a DBIII in "Goldfinger" the seventh of his James
Bond novels. The legendary relationship between 007 and his marque began with the classic
silver DB5 which featured in "Goldfinger" (1964) and "Thunderball" (1965) as Mr
Bond’s company car, then as his private car in "Golden Eye" (1995) and "Tomorrow Never
Dies" (1997). A metallic green DBS makes an appearance at both the start and finish of
"On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" (1969). "The Living Daylights" (1987) features a charcoal
grey V8 Vantage. After a short interlude "Casino Royale" (2006) has our favourite
secret service agent driving both the new DBS as his company car, and a classic DB5 for
pleasure after winning it in a poker match.
Other Aston Martin silver screen appearances:
Alfred Hitchock’s “The Birds” (1963) - Aston Martin DB 2/4
“The Italian Job“ (1969) - Aston Martin DB4
“The Cannonball Run” (1981) - Aston Martin DB5
