ALPINA HISTORY
Alpina is an automobile tuning company based in Buchloe, in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany specializing in BMW cars. Alpina was founded by Bunkard Bovensipen in the early 1960’s.
Alpina has closer relations with BMW than any other tuner. On many occasions Alpina have run racing teams on behalf of BMW and Alpina accessories are often available through normal BMW dealers.
Alpina build vehicles in there own right in addition to supplying Alpina branded parts which others use to upgrade their own cars. This is an important distinction, a genuine Alpina car is a package of Alpina upgrades designed and tested to work together, it is more than just the sum of its parts.
Alpina have been offering a different take on BMW’s since 1963 when they first breathed life into the "Neu Klasse" four cylinder saloons with carburettor upgrades. One of the guiding philosophies of Alpina's work has been to gain performance without any compromise to reliability, this has ensured Alpina’s reputation for quality.
